For our client in Fornebu (Oslo) we are recruiting a Project Engineer, 1 year contract with possibility of extension or permanent employment, to support their project management and engineering management functions on an important project on the Mozambique LNG MEG EP project.

ROLE DESCRIPTION AND MAIN TASKS

• Project Management: Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in leading and managing oil and gas projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support in the planning, design, and execution of oil and gas projects, including drilling, production, and infrastructure development.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges in projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safety and compliance with industry regulations.
• Procurement and Vendor Management: Oversee the procurement of equipment, materials, and services, facilitate and expedite project team – Vendors relationships to ensure timely project delivery.
• HSE Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project life cycle, promoting a culture of safety.
• Cost Control: Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager by identifying and/or proposing cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality standards.
• Stakeholder Communication: Foster effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress reports to management and clients.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control and assurance processes to meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Team Leadership: Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in motivating project teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring team members have the necessary resources and support to achieve project goals.
• Travels as required by the project, internationally. Occasionally, on short notice.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical).
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in project engineering within the Energy, Oil, and Gas sector.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of oil and gas operations, production techniques, and industry regulations.
• Project Management Skills: Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of oil and gas processes, equipment, and systems.
• HSE: familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, and commitment to safety in project execution.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software, CAD tools, and relevant industry software.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and lead by example. Fabrication / construction yard experience is a plus.
• Fluent in English written and spoken.
